On Saturday 9 November to Sunday 10 November 2019, one of our valued volunteers, Alison Swift, opened her beautiful garden at Moats’ Corner, 415 White Hill Road, Dromana, to the public as part of Open Gardens Victoria. This garden was the passion of Jean Duncan, who first established it in 1950. Today it is a wonderful mix of old and new. Paths weave under pergolas, arches, arbors and gazebos, past a 130-year-old Cypress driveway, along with 400 roses that will be an absolute delight in November. There are numerous themed gardens set around a stunning new home to explore. You will find the Japanese garden, Sunken Rose garden, the White Garden, and a lake fringed with yellow water iris, inspired by the works of Monet.
Check out the Open Gardens Victoria website.
Alison and her family elected to donate their share of the gate takings to Groomed to Go – we are extremely grateful for their generosity and consideration!
WomenConnect Lunch 4 September 2019
We had a wonderful day on Wednesday 4 September 2019. Another wonderful luncheon hosted by WomenConnect Frankston.
The guest speaker on the day is the wonderful Sandra Pankhurst, esteemed founder of Australia’s largest trauma cleaning business, and publicly renowned for her book The Trauma Cleaner. We heard her story of immeasurable sympathy and strength, in her presentation on her incredible, and at many times, difficult life.
This was an opportunity for local business women (and men) to connect, while enjoying a delicious 2 course luncheon and glass of wine.
